Description

Hello here we go. Pictures to follow tomorrow. I bought this years ago from someone in South Wales as just the frame with a few extras. He told me he'd bought the bike around 1966. He'd owned a motorcycle business. He sold the engine in 1966 and said the bike originated in the Monmouth area and was last on the road in 1966. I have the original number but its not on the system so will probably need to be registered through the Ariel owners club. I managed to find a replacement engine for an Ariel huntmaster. I'll give the frame and engine numbers when I get access to it tomorrow and get some photos on. But I checked and it is a 1954 model as far as I know. It's mostly complete apart from the battery and wiring loom. A lot of BSA A10 or A7 bits are the same and so will fit. I have a few new bits and restored bits as well. I would have liked to have restored it but I have too much to do and not enough space so sadly it has to go. I could deliver this for fuel costs I'm in the Midlands so could travel up to say 150 miles or the buyer can collect.

http://redhunter. com/blog/2010/02/16/ariel-engine-and-frame-number-prefixes-2/ I checked the engine number which has an LF prefix and the frame with a DU prefix which both match an Ariel FH 650 Twin from 1955. I'll add photos of the ckutch and gearbox plus anything else later. There are handlebars a headlamp and a speedo with bracket as well as other various bits and pieces.

I forgot to mention that I had new valves and springs fitted with insets fitted to the valve seats so it will run on unleaded petrol. I had it rebored as well with new pistons and rings. However one of the cylinders had got some rust sinse that was done over 10 years ago. So there is a bit of pitting at the base of one of the cylinders it may need to be honed maybe. I have the front wheel as well. I dont many nuts and bolts for the bike though.
