Description

I am the original owner of this 2001 Royal Enfield 500 Bullet. It has just 50 miles on it. Why so few miles you ask?    Good question. When I was travelling with my wife in March. 2002 I found this bike at a dealer in Florida and had to have it.    The reason for purchasing is because I have a vintage British car and I wanted to display the RE next to it.   I felt they would go great together   I loved the period look of the RE and indeed the two went together very well. For the past 12-and a half years. this bike has sat in a private heated home museum next to that car.   I have just ridden the bike on three occasions and it runs great.   This RE is the last of the manual kick-start bikes.    Admittedly. since I did not use it much. I had to go to the instruction manual to get the piston properly lined up to give it the necessary kicks.   But start it did. and in all its glory (vibration and all) it ran just fine.    It was a hoot to ride tooThere is one single flaw on this bike and that is a small rub mark on the top of the rear fender when it was shipped to me.    Other than that. this bike is without any other fault - and is truly the immaculate 55-mile bike it should be. The new owner will need to purchase a battery and maybe even choose have it serviced - or service the bike themselves.   However. that is all the bike will need. Since I never licensed the bike for street use. it was never titled.   The bike therefore still is on its Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO).   The new owner. upon titling. can claim to be the original owner.  By the way. this bike came with a list of many trick little factory/dealer options  . . . **  K&N air filter**  Duck bill breather (dumps crankcase fumes on the chain instead of into the air filter)**  Relocated horn**  Chrome brake rod w/nut. **  Chrome chain adjusters**  Chrome rear wheel spacers**  Chrome rear wheel hub cover**  Bar-end mirrors**  RE 350 front fender and fender stays (350 fender looks better than the 500 fender)**  Re-jetted carb. **  Big tri-bar headlight and mounting rings**  Removed turn indicators**  Solo riding seat**  Re-mounted electronics . out of sight**  More open muffler**  Removed rear pegsNow you can see why I liked the bike so much - it is really cool. Here is hoping it goes to a good home.    Good luck  . . . As a side note. I am selling my personal collection of 10 outstanding bikes  -  all in very high end condition.  Feel free to browse my other listings. Financial details:  A $500 nonrefundable deposit is due immediately after winning auction via PayPal and after that we can discuss whatever payment works best for you. As with any other seller. I will not turn over the bike until it is paid for in full .  Shipping is up to the buyer. I do have ample space and will be happy to store the bike for a few weeks as needed to accommodate as needed while shipping details are arranged.   United States sales only please.
