1982 Suzuki GS1000SZ Katana

For sale 1982 Suzuki GS1000SZ Katana! First year in the US, ow VIN, ow mileage (~7,550 miles - still riding it occasionally) excellent condition rider.
I bought this bike in 2012 locally in Seattle from a well known restorer in the area. It took me three years to find a bike that was in this condition and I was lucky enough to find one locally.
The bike had 6,600 miles when I purchased it and in almost 3 years I have put on it almost a 1,000 miles. The reason that is not ridden more often is because I have 6 other bikes, nd I mostly ride the Katana to local vintage shows and nice weather weekends. That said, he bike is excellent riding condition, t is very reliable, tarts immediately, uns well (professionally jetted and tuned, ave all the receipts), ccelerates strong, urns as it should and stops well, nd has zero rust inside the gas tank.
Since I have purchased it, replaced the exhaust with a stainless steel Yoshimura replica (hand crafted in the US by former Yoshimura employee), nd installed new tires.
I still have the original exhaust and it will be included in sale. The original factory 4-2 exhaust is is straight, ent free and rust free, owever it is not in the original finish. They were originally black chrome and the exhaust was poorly pitted thus it was refinished in matte black, o the finish is not correct shine or material.
Also, n the photos one can see that the seat strap is missing, have it is removed and it will be provided.
Center stand has been removed to clear the new exhaust, nd will also be provided.
Everything on the bike works as it should, ou can climb on and go on a road trip across the country
Few things that need to address to make this bike 100% perfect:
1. Some of the engine paint has been peeled off in few places. Not immediately obvious but visible if you look for it.
2. Swing arm has a gouge on it (structurally OK) and the front tab that keeps the chain guard in place has broken off. I have another swing arm that is scratch free but still needs to be clear coated or anodized and bushings installed, t will be provided if you want to swap them over, he chain guard will also be provided.
3. The early bikes had fiberglass nose piece and this one has developed a crack. I am working to have it fixed but I am not sure if it will be done in time for the end of the auction. It should cost about $200-$300 to have it repaired and painted to match, id accordingly.
