1982 SUZUKI KATANA GS1000SZ *** NO RESERVE*****

Im trying to scale down my bike collection, ll keep the full fairing ones from late 80's early 90's, o the katana must go.

I got this bike here in south CA a while ago.Looks great and I ride it very often, almost every weekend).

Has been restoredbut theengine wasn't touched, think the carbs need a good cleaning,tend to hesitate in 1st and 2nd gear but when hot you notice itless .

I'm not much of a mechanic so I prefer not to try to clean them myself.

The neutral green light is burnt (I think, otsure why stopped working)

Themileage isn't correct for sure, hows 8KbutI think that's not the correct speedometer....I'm assuming, he lastowner didn't know either.

But who cares? it's a KATANA.... ride, hifts, rake, it's loud,I get lots of thumbs up and plenty of questions whenIstop for gas.

Zero rust inside the tank, still shines like new)

The paint job is flawless, orrect colo, OS decals.

Doesn't smoke at all.

Needs a new windscreen (original one is sun burnt)

Also theres a crack on the tail light, $40 on ebay)

The seat has been redone, ooks nice but the color is a bit off and missing the 3 ribs on top of passenger seat (if you know this bikes you know what I'm talking about).

You still can find an original exhaust pipe (not cheap ) on ebay, hey pop uponce ina while.

I have the 4 original clamps for it, hose are hard to find. (see pic)

Also part of the air box, nd side covers if you want tomake it stock.

It's a good bike that startsright away every time.

--- The clutch hub does rattle when on idl, oes away when engaged. That was one of the reasons I thought the bike has more than 8k miles, ut was told by some, hat on older suzukis the clutch hub is made of soft metal and the treads quickly begin to widen and create the rattle.That is an easy fi, ith a $32 " ape clutch hub nut".The clutch works great anyway.
