This was a ground up restoration a few years back. The bike was taken down to the bare frame and rebuilt back up. Stainless bolts were used. motor was rebuilt about 2 years ago (lower end) and has about 30 minutes on it for jetting around my block (bike has not been in the dirt). This has basically been a show bike that has been entered in contests. The bike is fully functional should you decide to race it. but the suspension would need to be set up for your weight. The bike runs good and is very fast. however depending on where you live. you might have to do some slight jetting. Okay. here is the story behind the various parts on the bike. I do not build team replica bikes. however this bike easily has some of the best aftermarket parts on it that were available at the time. My reasoning for not building a team bike is because back in the day if you purchased a team bike like DG or FMF. the bike came with their parts or parts that they endorse. The problem is that not all the team parts were the best available at the time and sure. the teams made their bikes work well with their parts. but take DG for instance. they were using some form of airshocks call Omega (I think). but the hot ticket were Fox airs. DG and Fox both made great cylinder heads. however I was able to obtain both a DG head and DG exhaust (so I went with it). The swingarm on this bike is probably the rarest part on it. because this is the original (or first) swingarm style LOP made (before the legendary banana arm). I do not know how many of these were made. but I have never seen another and they were made sometime in 1977 (a year before the banana arm). All that being said. I built this bike to race it. so that is why I went with the various parts instead of building a team replica bike (I wanted the best parts from the period). nbsp; but it was just so nice when I finished it that I never got around to racing it (I made excuses to avoid getting it dirty). Anyway. that's the story. The bike will be available at Lake Sugar Tree MX park this weekend on Saturday. October 18. 2014 for inspection. If you have any questions please call me at (703) 961-1453 and good luck. Mike
