1978 Suzuki GS1000E with many upgrades. Cosmetically this bike is in beautiful condition. I get compliments wherever I go. I like to be upfront with every detail. I did replace the motor this summer. The donor bike was another 1978 GS1000E with a mileage of 26. 65. the original odometer reads 21. 20 miles. there is a small nick on the tank. minor flaking around the gas cap but not visible with the cap on and a few minor pockmarks on the tail section from a bungee cord where a rear rack was mounted. please look at the photos. The motor is running great and is super clean. The pipes are new with maybe 150 miles on them. some fine-tuning will be needed with the carbs. it's just to cold now to try and get that right.
Here is a list of the major improvements;
Race Tech gold cartridge emulator for the front forks (installed by the Race Tech)
Harrison 4 Piston Billet Aluminum brake calipers
Held stainless stainless steel brake lines
EBC front brake rotors
Avon Road Runner tires
MOTO GPWORKS 4 into 1 stainless steel exhaust
KEiHIN CR29 race carburetors with pods (will include the velocity stacks from the original package)
Pingel high flow petcock
530 chain conversion. new sprockets
Tsubaki Gold chain
Suzuki GS1100 aluminum swingarm
Ohlins S36PR1C1LB fully adjustable rear shocks
Dyne 2000 ignition. 2. 2 OHM colis and DW600 wires
New black handle bar
Rizoma mirrors
Tarozzi rearsets
Electro Sport rectifier
Electro Sport stator
Many new nuts and bolts.
In addition I am adding my projects in progress for this motorcycle
1. Front and rear spoke rims. the rear rim is bent but my plan was to upgrade both rims and spokes. This is a nice retro look and will actually be lighter than the cast rims.
2. Active push pull throttle. cables and control switches for the right handlebar
3. Nissin clutch master cylinder 14mm. the first stage in putting a hydraulic clutch in. Magura makes a piston for the clutch side.
4. Lockhart oil cooler. hoses and machined oil cooler adapter. This is another retro classic. all you need are the fittings on the adapter side. The oil cooler mounts are provided.
these are all great additions for this motorcycle. Thank you for looking.
