Description

Here is a stunning classic 2 stroke that you will be proud to own.   It has a clear Georgia title in my name and runs great.   Everything works:  headlights high and low beam. brake light. horn. turn signals. electric starter. instruments and instrument lights.   This bike comes equipped with recent Dunlop Gold Seal tires that are period correct. you can still see the color stripes.   There is no corrosion. all chrome shines nicely.   I have cleaned the carbs. repacked the baffles. drained and changed the transmission oil to synthetic. drained the injector oil and replaced with Amsoil synthetic. lubricated all cables. flushed and refilled the radiator with fresh coolant. and replaced the chain with a new one.    The fuel petcock was rebuilt with new rubber internals. new fuel lines were installed and the tank is full of non-ethanol fuel.   This bike has NO crash damage and is straight.   The grips and brake/clutch handles as well as the footpeg rubbers show no sign of ever having touched the road.   The left pipe does have a scrape on the 'flat spot'. this cannot be seen unless you look very low.    The seat cover has been carefully replaced (it had a small split) and is of very high quality.    Both left and right 'S' mirrors are installed and in perfect condition.   There are NO leaks anywhere.   This bike has obviously lived inside for its entire life.   The paint is beautiful and has no fading or problems. there is a 1/4" scratch on the left side of the tank and a few small scratches on the left dogear.   The trip odometer knob is missing.   The inside of the fuel tank is spotless.   This bike starts easily and runs great with excellent acceleration and once warmed up it idles smoothly.   It shifts through the gears well although 3rd gear seems a bit noisier than the others.   The engine has a small missing piece where the chain broke and hit it (common) but it is not very noticeable and the chain covers are not affected.   The brakes (front and rear) work well.   All exhaust cones are dent free and the baffles are all installed.   I removed the exhaust and installed new gaskets in all 3 head pipes as well as new o rings in the crossover tubes so there are NO exhaust leaks.   The 6 exhaust flange-to-cylinder mounting bolts were all replaced with new bolts and stainless washers.    Both frame covers have all 3 plug-ins undamaged.    This GT750J is correct in every way! This unmolested 42 year old bike looks very close to new. good luck bidding and I will dry store the bike for 2 weeks (I need the room!) after the auction ends if needed.   The winner of this auction can expect to make a $200 deposit using paypal and the balance by check or bank transfer please.    International buyers are welcome.   The January of 1972 issue of Cycle World (2nd photo) will be included.
