It is with regret that I am selling my Triumph T150v trident but I need the money for other things.
I have had the bike a few years now and it has been utterly reliable and a real joy to rid. I have other bikes but this is the first bike that comes out in the spring. Always starts first or second kick has a fantastic exhaust note from the megaphone silencers and always draws a crowd when out with people always asking questions etc.
The bike is nimble to ride. plenty of power and when the throttle is wound open the smile grows as wide as the throttle. I will be sorry to see her go but needs must.
The condition of the bike is very original. It has been repatriated from America in the early nineties and was told that the bike is from the west coast which is very dry and I can believe this as the condition of the chrome of the now very rare Jones and Dunlop original rims is excellent. testament to not having being used on salty rainy roads as here in good old blighty.
The bike has never been abused or hacked about being repaired to keep it running resulting in a very good honest original machine. However it is over 42 years old and as such has a patina and signs of normal wear and tear which is most evident on the frame where it has been touched up here and there with black paint and the usual degradation of some rubber items such as the wiring loom to front headlight waterproof rubber bung. easily bought from LP Williams for a few pounds.
The bike has had the following attention of the last few years including a professional respray of the tank and side panels which look fantastic. new megaphone exhausts. Boyer ignition. single phase power box so now the bike has modern electrics and will never let you down and a new ignition switch and new seat cover. I have also just fitted a NOS rocker box as there was a leak from the rocker shaft which was not cured by replacing the O ring.
You will either do one of two things with this bike. Ride or Restore
Ride the bike and have so much fun and watch your investment grow. especially as you cannot even buy a half decent Bonneville for less than £4500 nowadays these tridents are seriously undervalued and can only go up in price. Five years plus and these will be worth in excess of £8000. just look at the current prices of the T160?ˆ™s approaching £10. 00
Restoring the bike should be an easy project as there are no missing parts. I rebuilt a T160 and was surprised how much was missing and how much it all cost. Just dismantle it. paint the frame etc. strip the engine and vapour blast it and replace bearings and rebuild it and you will have an immaculate machine worthy of top money and engine is simple to work on believe me I have done one.
All in all a great machine. with matching numbers. which you won?ˆ™t be disappointed with and will be a great investment.
Comes with a year?ˆ™s MOT and of course no TAX to pay as it is now a historic machine If you want to discuss this further you can call Mark on 07773 483646
