Description

I'm selling my Thunderbird 900 which I've had for 6 years and covered just over 3000 miles in that time so not as many as I would have liked. I now have a new Triumph so the Thunderbird hasn't been used for over a year and although I wanted to keep it as an investment and also for longer journeys and when I take a pillion out as it's much more comfortable than my Thruxton but leaving it in the garage doesn't seem right and isn't ideal as I found out when I came to get it going for the M. O. T. It has had a new battery and 2 new tyres along with an oil and filter change. It needed a new cdi unit and pick up. It now runs and starts very well after running new petrol through the system. The only advisory was for the Norman Hyde pipes which make it sound lovely but louder than standard although when cruising along it burbles nicely and only growls when you open it up which tends to be quite addictive as it is so smile inducing.   The standard rear shock had become a bit flat so I bought a new Hagon (£375) replacement which makes a massive difference to the handling and has adjustment too. The Norman Hyde pipes are immaculate (£300) and I have had the downpipes rechromed too(£170). I have also had the valve shims changed and carburettors balanced 2000 miles ago.   As it has been standing in the garage it has become a bit grubby and will need some polish and elbow grease to return it too it's best. The buttons on the seat have lost some of their vinyl and the speedo and rev counter bowls could do with being replaced as they were damaged before I bought the bike and although I have kept an eye on ebay for some replacements I haven't seen any and new ones are £50 each if you can find a dealer with some in stock. The working of the clocks are unaffected.  So mechanically the bike is sound and runs well. Cosmetically it could do with some work but it does come up nicely.  I have advertised it locally so may withdraw it from ebay but only if I receive an offer that I can't refuse as I'm not in any hurry to sell it and would like ti let the auction run it's course.  The bike is currently SORN but as I still have insurance I can tax it if required and am willing to help out with delivery for a reasonable charge. Payment will be £200 unreturnable deposit followed by cash on delivery or collection.  Any questions are welcome. Thanks for looking.
