1970 Triumph Tiger 650 - Matching Numbers Don Harrell Restoration

donny This superb condition Triumph was first purchased at Wilson?ˆ™s Triumph in Fresno. California in 1970. During its lifetime it came under the ownership of the esteemed Don Harrell who owned it for several years. Ultimately Don dismantled the bike for restoration and had the engine rebuilt by Carol Jackson. Many know Don Harrell from his award winning restorations and record sale prices at the annual vintage motorcycle auction in Las Vegas. West Coasters will remember Carol Jackson for his motorcycle shop in Visalia. CA and as a top racer in the day. After completing the restoration. Don sold the bike to a friend who maintained stewardship of the bike for many years until he passed on and Don once again found himself as owner of the bike. The bike was then sold at auction in Las Vegas and found its way to Washington state where it was again pampered before I returned the bike to California after purchasing it about two years ago. Of all the Triumph twins I have owned and those of my classic bike friends. we all agree that this is the sweetest running Triumph we have ever had the pleasure to know. It has never been dropped or crashed and I never ride it in the rain. It is always garaged and covered and has a current. clear California title. It starts on first or second kick. even when cold.   It does not leak. sputter or ever behave poorly. This is a truly fine motorcycle  and worthy collectors piece. This is the last year for Triumph twins before the advent of the oil in frame bikes.
