This machine was rebuilt in the 80's. by the previous owner who was known to me. I had always admired it and when i got the opportunity to buy it in the late 90's. nbsp;jumped at it.
Unfortunately the years hadn't been kind. and i decided to rebuild it myself. Frame. Swingarm etc all re stoved. and re assembled with mostly stainless fastenings. and generally
it had a right good clean and going over. As an engineer. it had to be right.
Spec includes :-
Twin Carb Head. Amal Concentrics K&N Filters
3 Phase 12v alternater from Mistral engineering with 12v electrics and Cibie Z Beam
Lucas Rita Ignition with Later modified pickup and deeper finned cover
Metal Profile forks and yolks. complete with origional brochure/parts list
Swingarm has been lengthened by 1 1/2" for stability and looks
Yamaha RD250 Hub laced into Borrani alloy rim. RD250 drilled disc. and calliper shod with Avon Roadrider
Triumph QD rear hub laced into Borrani alloy rim. shod with Avon Roadrider
2 into 1 exhaust. works and sounds very well
Alloy front mudguard. and fork brace
BSA Oil tank. spin on oil filter
Magnesium engine mounting plates
Braided hoses. brake. oil. and breather
All in all. a well constructed. well looked after addition to anyones collection. It has been tastefully modified with
period performance parts and sensible mods to allow usable. modern day. safe and reliable riding.
As you can see by the pictures this is most deffinitly NOT a one owner matching numbers origional bike. and it may not be to everyones taste. /p>
but it is a one off. and the time that must have gone into that period custom tank is what makes it for me !
Now. if i am critical. i would have to point out a few bits that aren't quite up to scratch any more. which is why its time for some new blood.
The spokes could do with being stainless. but are still very presentable. The front tube of the frame is a bit tatty from stone chips before the mudguard was fitted.
The seat cover needs repairing where it touches the tank rear mount. mostly out of sight. There is a small dent on the left side of the petrol tank. and it has the usual Triumph oil leaks !
In general. it could do with a good polish up. and riding.
Well. that's about it. any questions please feel free to ask via ebay or i can be contacted on 07941210628. viewing is very much reccomended. to make sure you are happy
with what you are bidding on. and can be arranged for evenings or weekends.
