In the late 1950's Yamaha, ost World War II, amaha began producing lightweight two-stroke singles to be used as transportation for the masses of Japan after the war. By the mid to late 1960's their YA series had evolved into the YA6 and many were being used as small sport motorcycles and converted to road racers in the U.S., anada and Europe.
This motorcycle is a 1968 Yamaha YA6 (125cc) that I have owned since the late 1970's. I bought this motorcycle from a collector that had partially restored it for his daughter but never completed the final assembly. I finished assembly and rode it once or twice during that summer. Consequently it sat in my collection for many years until 6 years ago when I had the bug to ride it again. I rebuilt the motor, ut some air in the tires and rode it around the neighborhood a couple of times.
Although the bike has been in sitting for several years, have no doubt that it would fire right up with a new battery and some fuel in the tank. The bike is in really nice condition, ith everything working, ncluding the electric start. A really nice little piece.
Along with the bike, will include an original service manual as well as some very useful, riginal spares.
