Project 1977 XT 500 currently on a "Q" plate. but can easily be returned to an age related Plate thru the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club. it will probably go back onto a "R" or "S".
Both engine and frame are 1U6 they are not matching but close 006690 and 004556.
I do not know why it is on a "Q" plate other than what it says on the registration document "Rebuilt-Assembled from parts some or all of which were not new".
It has just passed an Mot 25th August so Mot till next August but no tax. It had been in storage for about 4 years. but cleaned the carb. new fuel. new battery and spark plug and you guessed it started about 5th kick.
It rides. starts and runs fine.
It would be a great starting point for a classic XT 500 thumper.
Please come and have a look. as the pictures make it look better than it is. saying that it is perfectly usable as is but remember this is a 36 year old bike and its not a 1 owner specimen.
