1979 Yamaha YZ100

This is a very nice. low hour and original 1979 Yamaha YZ100 dirtbike. Starts easy and runs very strong through all the gears. It is getting very cold here in Michigan and I can go out in the garage and start this bike with one kick! The motor is nice and tight and quiet on the top end. 135lbs of compression. For what its worth. I was told that the original owner of this bike was a girl who only trail rode the bike occasionally. I bought the bike from her relative. This little bike RIPS.

The frame and motor serial numbers match as they should. I've had some people tell me that this bike is a 78 model not a 79 because of the short side panels. That is incorrect and this bike is definitely a 1979 model. The 1978 YZ100 serial numbers start with 2K5 and 1979 YZ100 start with 2W5.

The bars are original and straight. The original grips are in great shape as well! Original tires with a decent amount of tread still left. The pipe is dent free.

One of the best things about this bike is the rear suspension. There is NO slop whatsoever in the swingarm or linkage. I don't think I've ever come across an old Yamaha that didn't have at least a little play in the rear end somewhere. The shock feels like it is still working properly as well.  The wheel bearings are nice and tight too.

Both the rims have small flat spots on them. The bike has an aftermarket silencer and is missing the front number plate and kill switch. The bike does not have a title. Bill of sale only.
