1979 BMW R100S

For sale - - 1979 BMW R100S. Located in Chicago, L. Owned by me for the past @5 years.

In excellent mechanical condition. Extremely reliable rider with nicks/scratches in the paint. Paint not original. Re-paint completed by a good friend at time that I took possession. Utterly reliable machine but for the odometer quitting on me approximately 3,000 miles ago. It has failed me once in 5 years - - snapped clutch cable approximately one year ago while two blocks from home.

Has taken me comfortably on many trips throughout the Midwest (Illinois, isconsin, ndiana, ichigan and Ohio); and to a family member's wedding in southern Maryland after an amazing Fall 2012 2000 mile roundtrip from Chicago through southern Ohio, est Virginia and Virginia. I absolutely love this bike but after acquiring my /5 with sidecar (shown in the last photo) tend to favor the hack more especially in light of the fact that I can tour with the hack with one of my kids with me...

Motorcycle needs nothing but a rider. New battery last Fall. Avon Roadrider tires have good tread. Fluids changed late last Summer. Tune up last Summer.

Note that there are no warranties expressed nor implied. Comes with everything shown in the photographs. (Sidecar hack, or wife, ncluded in sale). Luggage included with its own working key.
