Kawasaki kz1000 z1000a2 1978

Kz1000a2. american import with certificate of title. not registered in the uk. I bought this around three years ago. t an estate sale. s a complete non runner project. since then I've done a fair bit of work and spent a few quid whenever I've had a bit of time and the inclination and now she starts. ll the electrics work. nd various new bits fitted. The engine has been flushed through. ew oil and filter fitted. Electrics been overhauled. ew battery fitted. Fork legs stripped. ew seals and oil and rebuilt. New pattern shocks fitted(original come with it)New spark plugs. ew brake pads. od air filters. hain and sprockets. side panel badge. pare points and other parts are included. A wad of receipts also comes with the bike. Still to do. carbs had a basic clean. ut ultra sonic would be money well spent. she fires up without hesitation. ut carbs needs setting up properly. The clutch was fine last year. ut a long period without being touched. as resulted in the clutch plates sticking. shouldn't be a hard fix. Front brake master cylinder wants looking at. i rigged a triumph item to test the front brake after overhauling the caliper and worked fine. ut havnt got round to stripping the master cylinder. lthough reservoir cleaned and the old gunk flushed out. Light Oil weep from the rev counter feed on cylinder head. Paint work tatty and general restoration. epending on how far you want to go. I was intending to go the whole hog. nd I have a spare a2 frame. hat I got sand blasted. tch primed and sprayed in 2k gloss black. ith the idea I would renovate from the ground up. sing the restored frame as individual components were restored. This frame is also American model. ith full paperwork that I will offer at what it has cost me to buy and restore-£375 with receipts to prove that cost. that is extra to the auction. nd up to the winning bidder if they want or not. The bike has been garaged since my ownership. given my rate of progress. 've decided it may be decades before completion. ol. nd classics really aren't my thing(I bought on impulse. s I had a zed thou back in the hazy past)I can deliver kent/Sussex area. or fuel money. ut the bike gets paid for before delivery. obviously it won't get ridden home. Any inspection is welcome. no reserve. cash or bank transfer only.

I have been asked if nova is present(proof of import duty paid)whilst I have no reason to believe one wasn't issued. didn't get a copy when I bought the bike as it was an estate sale(following the death of the previous and only uk owner )and it wasn't found. lthough I was assured it had been paid(it would be unusual to get it in from the states and manage to avoid paying it!)As my plan was to use the other frame. hich does have full paperwork. didn't think any more about it. i have the name and address of the former deceased owner. nd usa certificate of title. he bike has been in the uk for about 5years. it should be possible if you want to deal with the nice people at customs & excise to either get verification that duty was paid. r worst case. f they can't/won't I that. then pay it now. not a fortune on a bike of this worth. Alternatively. llow for the £375 I'm asking for the restored frame and go the route I was going. it is offered exclusively to the auction winner. hough I will offer it on it's own. f not required after the auction finishes. It's not my intention to deceive anyone. f you've bid and are unhappy  with the above. et me know and I will happily allow retraction of bid. . etePete

Latest update. had a quick play with the bike. nd the clutch was merely a question of adjustment on the clutch end worm drive adjuster. it goes into first with a bit of a clonk. ut smooth through the box up and down(tested on the centre stand)the drive chain is only loosely fitted. nd the clutch cable roughly adjusted. o I'm confident the clonk can be tuned out!Replacing rubber grommet inside the rev counter cable seems to have cured the oil weep. o everything back to oil tight and leak free. As the bidding price is getting to reasonable levels. will now offer the restored frame at the discounted rate of £200 to the winning bidder. I will reduce this further or even include it free if the winning bid is £1350 or more. cant say fairer than that!

I confirm the renovated frame with nova is now included as the bids exceed £1350. i. ike most other genuine ebay users have been messed around in the past by time wasters. inning auctions and not completing sales. o I request a £100 deposit by paypal  within 48 hours. failing that. he zed is offered to the next highest bidder.
