1965 Francis Barnett Falcon 87

Lots of time and money have already been spent on this bike by the previous owner. Due to his ill health he had lost interest and left it half finished in his shed. I bought it as an unfinished project; all the major engine work had already been done. It has a 197cc Villiers/AMC single cylinder engine. and 4 speed gearbox fitted to this model Falcon 87

There is a list of the work carried out on a sheet supplied with the bike plus some receipts. The work included a rebore and new piston and much more. also a maintenance booklet and the V5 is in my name. I carried out some cosmetic work to finish. and reassembled all the parts that were supplied in boxes. I drained and cleaned the petrol tank and carb as it had been stood some time. Fitted a new 6v battery and put some fresh 2 stroke fuel in and it started 3rd kick.

 The engine sounds really healthy and it’s easy to start and it ticks over well.   If you keep watching I will add a YouTube clip in the next day or two and you can hear it running for yourselves. It is not in concourse condition and could be further improved if so desired. But is a very nice looking 50 year old British bike and is an eye catcher in its Green and White Francis Barnett colours. I have probably missed lots of information. if I have please ask away but please only sensible questions.
