YAMAHA XT500 1979

  History.

The bike was purchased in November 1993 with unknown mileage. It was used occasionally until October 1998 at which point a Stage 1 head top end overhaul and hone was carried out. The engine was put back in but due to a change in personal circumstances it was never run and has been garaged ever since. The work that was carried out to the engine is listed in the photo of the invoice.

A couple of weeks ago the carb was stripped and cleaned and an attempt made to start it but no joy. Currently there is no time or inclination to do anymore with it hence the reason it is for sale.

Here is a list of the non-original parts that I am aware of. (if you know XT's I'm sure you'll be able to tell from the photo's).

> Headlight.

> Instruments.

> Exhaust.

> Front Brake lever.

> Sump guard – missing.

> Throttle.

> Wiring has been replaced.

Faults that I am aware of. (apart from not starting)

> Pet Cock lever has been botch repaired and the seal leaks.

> Clutch is seized where it has been stood for so long.

> Choke lever is missing.

> Tyres are perished.

> The seat has some tears.
