1980 Yamaha IT250 IT 250

THERE IS NO TITLE FOR THIS BIKE. This is an off road only bike. not licensed and therefore has no title. Ebay's listing form requires some kind of title to be selected. but there is no title. My dad bought this bike sometime it the early '80s for use as a trail bike to replace his DT250. It was ridden on the trails in west central WI which are mostly smooth. sand fire roads. He thought it was a rocket ship! It's never been raced since he bought it and the smooth trail use has left the suspension in pretty good shape. When he quit riding about 15 years ago I put a new piston and rings in it to keep it as a spare for friends to use. My friends all have their own bikes so it probably only has about 2 hours on that rebuild. It's been in my garage unused for the last 10 or so years. I put fresh gas in. cleaned the carb and it fire up nicely. It's not mint by any definition. but it is in good unrestored condition. It runs well. steers well. shifts well and comes on the pipe the way it did years ago. It's quite fun after riding four strokes for so long. Both high and low beam work on the headlight. I'm not sure about the tail light. The pictures show some oil stains on the rear fender and tank. The yellow sticker for the front number plate comes off in the car wash. We've had trouble with the top exhaust mount breaking. I once made bracket without the stock rubber mounting. That bracket is still there but one of the bolts is missing. There are a couple other missing bolts. but nothing you'll have trouble finding. It's a 35 year old bike. If you would like see it please send me a message and we'll try to work out a time.
