1959 Triumph Twentyone 350cc, good runner to ride / restore V5c

1959 TRIUMPH Twentyone ride-restore 3TA

Here is a classic Triumph twin. the bathtub “twenty-one” 350 in running order ready for a bit of recommissioning and getting back on the road.

The bike starts very easily and sound great mechanically . It doesn’t smoke or rattle and it goes very well indeed for a 350.

The bike has been off the road for a while and needs a thorough clean up and full service. It rides OK. brakes are decent and this bike is more or less road worthy. The speedometer is faulty. it sticks at 30 mph then works OK between 30 & 60!

Gearbox and clutch are good.

The bike is charging well . still on 6V.

The bike comes with its V5c and original registration number KEP 769 (transferable

Frame number is H12632 genuine matches V5C. Engine number is 3TA H12632 (but this has clearly been re-stamped). the bike is declared manufactured 1959 so is pre-60 MOT exempt and eligible for free historic class road tax.

Cosmetically the bike is a mixture of good enamel and generally fading or poor chrome work.

The enamel on the frame itself is very good . The tin-ware also has good paintwork. There are no fins missing from the engine although the top fins on the nearside have been repaired.

The exhaust system is serviceable but the chrome is poor. Bathtubs etc are genuine steel items.

Good side & centre stands are fitted. It looks like the wheel rims were rebuilt and the spokes & nipples remain very clean & rust free. The rims will clean up to a good standard although no longer perfect! Good seat. new battery. unused looking tyres.

This is an nice little bike to clean up and improve. /p>

It is a good runner and shouldn’t need much more than general service. light recommissioning work and thorough clean up to make into a very nice little runabout.

Don’t miss this true work-a-day classic Triumph of the late 1950’s so put a bit of Elvis or Eddie Cochran on the juke box and relive the dream!
