Triumph 3ta 1965 original and unrestored condition last taxed in 1976

Triumph 3ta 1965 original and unrestored condition last taxed in 1976.  The engine and frame number match and the registration is the original. the V5c is present. The bike is ex-police and is for restoration.

Prior to my purchase the bike had been kept in garage and was discovered after being off the road for almost 40 years following the death of its last owner.

The bike looks very complete and unrestored retaining its original police colour and appears to be missing only the speedo and a brake shoe. There are remains of the screen fittings on the handlebars and an additional switch on the nacelle top. The engine number is suffixed W which indicates a high output alternator.

 The engine is free and can be turned over by the kick start.

No fin damage.

 All gears engage.

The lights work if the wiring is connected to a battery charger.

The original tool tray and a couple of tools are present.

Manufactured in September 1965. this one of the last 3ta triumphs built and was one of two supplied to T Cowie ltd and  issued to Sunderland police in that year.

With the help of the Triumph owners club I have retained the original registration and V5c together with details of manufacture and supply

The bike is for restoration and is would suit its police or civilian colour scheme. When did you last see an unrestored 3TA for sale?
